What are microbes?
Microbes, or microorganisms, are minute living creatures that individually are typically too small to be seen with the naked eye. In other words they're the tiny things that we've all been told since we could walk around and explore had the potential to make us sick and never want to do anything again. Is that necessarily true though? Despite what your mother may have told you when you picked up a lollipop off the floor and continued your consuming, not all microbes or even all bacteria are bad for. In fact, there are some microbes that are in your body at all times to help you break down food to gain nutrients from that food. Of course our parents wouldn't completely lie to us, there are some microbes that cause you and other organisms harm. If you've ever woken up with itchy spots, known as chicken pox, on you that you were told not to scratch, then you know that some microbes, this one being a virus, can cause us humans much more trouble than we'd like to deal with. Regardless of what any humans want however, microbes are everywhere, good and bad, and they affect every single one of us so, why not learn about the tiny little creatures roaming around not only your surroundings, but even inside your body?
